Hours and Earnings: The November 2024 private sector average workweek, not seasonally adjusted, averaged 33.6 hours (AWH). This is up one-tenth of an hour from the November 2023 average of 33.5 hours (0.3%). Average hourly earnings (AHE) at $38.32 in November 2024, not seasonally adjusted, were up by $1.70 (4.6%) from the November 2023 estimate of $36.62. The resulting November 2024 private sector average weekly earnings (AWE) were estimated at $1,287.55, higher by $60.78 (5.0%) from a year ago ($1,226.77). The Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers (CPI-U, U.S. City Average, not seasonally adjusted - all items index) for November 2024 was up 2.7% from a year ago.
