| General information |
In order to be placed on the list of WIA Approved Training Programs,
prospective institutions and organizations have to apply for and
receive certification by one or more local workforce boards to provide
education and training to persons awarded Individual Training Accounts
under the Workforce Investment Act (WIA).
The information provided here is for programs that have received
approval by a Regional Workforce Development Board and the
Connecticut Department of Labor. Certification and inclusion of
programs on this list was based on information submitted to the
Regional Boards by the training providers. Training providers'
programs are subject to removal from the list of WIA Approved
Training Programs if they intentionally supply inaccurate information
or fail to maintain standards required for approval. Viewers are
encouraged to review the list prior to enrolling in a program to
ensure that a training provider is eligible to enroll persons and to
receive WIA training funds.
Inclusion of information regarding any program of training services
or any institution, organization or individual providing training
services is in no way an endorsement of that program, institution,
organization or individual. Further, the information included on
this list was supplied by the Regional Workforce Development Boards,
who obtained it directly from the training providers, and the accuracy
of the information is not guaranteed. Viewers are requested to report
to their Regional Boards any inaccuracies found in the information.
General inquiries regarding information provided on the list for
programs in your area should also be directed to the
Regional Workforce Development Board
in your area.

| About This Site |
Training providers who offer programs under the same program type are
listed in alphabetical order. The order of listing does not reflect
any preference on the part of a Regional Workforce Development Board
or the Connecticut Department of Labor. Viewers who will be using a
WIA Individual Training Account voucher are encouraged to review the
information on each program in consultation with their employment
counselor.
If a training provider has a Web site, electronic links to the Web
site are provided to help you access additional information that may
be important to you when choosing your training option. No effort is
made by the Connecticut Department of Labor or the Regional Workforce
Development Boards to validate any information on the training
providers' Web sites.
The cost information displayed may represent only the dollar amount,
per student, for in-district/in-state tuition and required fees for
the program. Additional costs may apply, including expenses for
out-of-district or out-of-state tuition, non-required fees, books,
equipment, materials and supplies, tools, uniforms or living expenses.
In addition, a student's total cost of training may be affected by
the program length, enrollment status (part-time versus full-time),
residence status (in-district/in-state versus
out-of-district/out-of-state), housing arrangements or the
availability of additional financial assistance. Before enrolling,
students should check directly with the training provider to find out
if there is financial assistance available or additional costs that
may be incurred.
